User Reviews and Ratings

Several users have expressed dissatisfaction with the necessity of the extension. Ralph Bartolome, Allen Fitzwater, and a user named Didi all rated the extension with one star, expressing their frustration over the fact that such a basic function requires an extension. They argue that the ability to cut, copy and paste should be an inbuilt feature in any online Office suite.

His frustration is compounded by the fact that he, like many other students, relies heavily on online Office tools like Word and Powerpoint for his college assignments.

In addition, Didi points out a specific issue with the extension, stating that it doesn't allow copying and pasting text that's highlighted by a comment.

Absurd.

At first, I was slightly annoyed, but adding the extension was the simplest thing. Reading all the negative reviews took longer than adding the extension itself.

Ridiculous

Riley Tinbayne

I'm not mad that you have to use an extension to use one of the most basic features of any word-editing software. I'm not upset that Microsoft had to fiddle with the Chrome code to make it possible. I'm friggin LIVID that they can't get their act together long enough for the extension to stay supported! Microsoft and Google are multi-billion-dollar companies, and they're faceplanting onto the pavement.

Wynter Tremlett

This is like buying a car and needing to pay more to get door installed. So so so so useless.

Jeremy Ayala (Jermbear)

Dose what I need it to do. Hopefully Microsoft updates and follows best practices for Chrome extensions so I can continue to use it. Not sure why this is rated so low it literally explains its reason and purpose in the description.

William Swift

We are told we need an extension.. THE FIRST THING WE SEE AT THE TOP OF THE PAGE IS "This extension may soon no longer be supported because it doesn't follow best practices for Chrome extensions" Which idiot with nothing better to do came up with this scheme? I'm changing my browser to Duck Duck Go

Hailey-Lynn Grubbs

Having to install an extension to do one of the most simplest and oldest function for online documents is so unnecessary that the only explanation is that the asshat who did this must have been having a horrible day and decided to take it out on the rest of the world.

Wachirawit Kanyaseangsri

The internet inventor didn't died for this..

Ralph Bartolome

I don't understand why this has to be a browser extension when it could very easily have been an inbuilt feature. Ridiculous.

Allen Fitzwater

It's bad enough I can't install the actual apps for these anymore without an insane subscription when they came with Windows originally. The web layouts are confusing and not as intuitive as the installed apps, but I have no other choice since I am a college student that relies on Word and Powerpoint to view and complete assignments. Now they are forcing us to download an extension for a function that is BUILT INTO ALL COMPUTERS/SOFTWARES?? Thanks for taking up room that I could be using for helpful extensions I guess

didi

It's ridiculous enough that we even have to install this extension. It won't even let me copy and paste text that's highlighted by a comment. Why is this an issue?
